Review of C.J. Fate by Kay Hooper

December 6th, 2010

Rating: ★★★½☆

This book was a fun read and waiting to find out what C.J’s real first name was half the fun. The book goes to show you can find love is the most bizarre of ways. C.J. is a lot more polite than I would have been if my friends where constantly nagging me about not dating or having a date. I think my colored girl side would of shown and a few feelings would have been hurt, lol.

Imagine pulling a total stranger into your life one night just to get your friends off your back because you don’t have a date for your friends wedding. Imagine that stranger sticking to you like glue and getting a kick out of the plot now that you have set the stage for your lie. Imagine trying to keep the lie and the reality separated and keep your heart from being broken. C.J. has to do just that after grabbing a stranger in the hallway one night to keep her friends at bay.

*** If you are a bride to be this book has some great ideas that fit right into the “Non-matching” bride’s maid theme that is currently popular***

Catherine Coulter Books – Knockout

December 6th, 2010

Rating: ★★★½☆

I love it when I find a new author to listen to via audiobook. I stumbled across finding Catherine Coulter while searching for audiobooks similar to another author I was listening to. Knockout was a good read to me because it mixed in the Who dunnit suspense with a little bit of the paranormal. The main characters of Coulter’s FBI series Lacy Sherlock and Dillon Savich are back again in the book to help out local sheriff Ethan Merriweather in Virginia.

Savich and Sherlock are temporarily pulled away from their own bank robbery case into Ethan’s case by seven year old Autumn Backman who contacts Dillon one night from thousands of miles away with out a phone or electronic device.

Autumn tells Savich . . . . Blessed is coming and she need’s Savich’s help!

I thought the story would be hard to follow with the two plots almost mingling together at times, it just made the audiobook more entertaining as I wondered if Dillion was going to leave Autumn high and dry while he brought the case of the psychotic bank robber pursuing him to a close.

Savich is described as a man who can bring fear to others with just one look from him, well little Autumn kick’s butt in her own right in this story with just a look, :o )

Linda Howard Books – To Die for book review

November 21st, 2010

I could definitely give this book Rating: ★★★★★ stars. The story line was a hoot and kept me in stitches. The main character Blair Mallory is a southern belle with a blend of L.A. fire. Blair takes you on a crazy romp as she tries to find out who killed her stalker look-a-like with out getting killed herself.

Blair’s old flame Wyatt Bloodsworth is the lead investigator. The antics and sexual tension between them keeps you ready to hear the next chapter in the story. I had to stifle my laughter while in public to keep from getting stares, lol
